Do I need an appointment?
Yes. We have changed the practice of walk-ins, to a call-in for same day appointment, and will always be based upon artist availability. We typically have artists available for same day appointments to do smaller designs that can be done in an hour or less.
Same day appointments are first come, first served, by the first available artist. If you are interested in a larger tattoo or a specific artist, we suggest contacting that artist about your ideas. Instagram is the best way to contact our artists. There may be a non-refundable deposit required to book an appointment, and it will be applied to the overall cost of your tattoo.
What are your hours?
We are open when we are open, but we usually have someone at the front desk Tues - Sat from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm. *Hours are subject to change without notice* Each artist is an independent contractor, they make their own hours and manage their own booking calendars. We generally have artists at the shop Tuesday - Saturday and on occasion some will work Sundays or Mondays, by appointment only.
How much does it cost?
It depends on placement, size, style of the tattoo. We have a shop minimum of $100, and hourly rates vary by artist, from $150-$200/hour. Shop minimum for hands, necks, faces start at $150.
What forms of payment do you take?
We are CASH ONLY. We do have an ATM on site for your convenience. Additionally, some artists might take Venmo or square, just ask what their preferred method of payment is upon booking.
Do I tip?
We absolutely accept them, although it is not required, it is very much appreciated. Your artist is providing you a service that is going to last a lifetime, so its nice to let them know you value their time and artistry.
Can I bring my kids?
No, Sorry! We love kids but it is not a safe or appropriate environment for children. Fussy babies can disturb the artists and clients, and fidgety feet don't mix well with tattooing. Please do not bring them.
Do you do cover ups?
YES, sometimes it is easily done, other times the existing tattoo is too dark or too big. What you want to cover it with is also a factor. If you have an existing tattoo that you want covered and it is initially too dark, we recommend Removery, they can help you lighten or remove it all together. Use this link and let them know we sent ya! https://removery.com/
What ingredients are in the ink used for tattoos?
The majority of their inks are purchased through a local distributor for licensed professionals only. The brands vary by artist and pigment. Some of the brand names are Fusion, Eternal Ink, Intenze, World Famous, Dynamic etc. Each pigment can have varying ingredients and details can be found on each of the brands websites, as well as on the product label.
Will getting a tattoo irritate my skin or cause a rash?
The process of tattooing is to inject ink into the dermis layer of the skin by puncturing the skin with hundreds of pricks, so the skin IS going to get irritated in the process. However, as long as you follow the after care instructions, 99% of people heal with no problem, but on rare occasions, a rash can occur. If that happens let your artist know and they can recommend options for you, or they may recommend you to consult a physician but that would be a rare and extreme circumstance.
Is Remedy Tattoo Parlor and their artists licensed?
Yes all of our artists and the shop are inspected yearly and have passed a health and safety inspection by the Salt Lake County Health Department, and our certificate is on the wall at the front desk. The health department certification is required by Murray city to have and maintain our business license, which is also current and on our wall.
What should I do to prepare for my tattoo appointment?
We recommend that you are well hydrated, have eaten within a couple of hours prior. Wear comfortable clothing, that is easy to be moved or removed in order to access the area for the artist to do your tattoo. We do not recommend white clothing near the area to be tattooed, as stencil and tattoo ink may prove difficult to get out.
